        "content": "<p>The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed on Wednesday\n(22\/7) to have attacked two bases in Jordan in retaliation for US\nstrikes. According to the IRGC, the attacks damaged helicopters and\ndestroyed a number of unmanned aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the first stage of the retaliatory operation, missile and drone\nstrikes against King Faisal Base and Prince Hassan Base in Jordan have\ndamaged the maintenance hangar for F-15 fighter jets,\u201d the IRGC said in\na statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition, a drone preparation hangar was destroyed, eight MQ-9\ndrones were completely destroyed, while two others at the location\nsuffered severe damage,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>The IRGC also claimed to have damaged two US helicopters and attacked\na military personnel centre, resulting in casualties. On the night\nbefore 18 June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum to guarantee\nan end to the conflict that began on 28 February.<\/p>\n<p>However, since 8 July, US forces have carried out a series of attacks\nagainst Iran. US Central Command claimed the strikes were in retaliation\nfor Iran\u2019s actions against commercial vessels passing through the Strait\nof Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>Iranian forces then responded by attacking US bases in the Middle\nEast.
