"summary": "The Iranian Parliament has initiated the legislative process to approve a new plan for intelligent management of the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to enhance waterway security, impose local currency fees on passing ships, and establish regional development funds. This development follows Iran's recent imposition of strict controls on the strait, barring vessels linked to Israel, the US, and their allies amid escalating regional tensions triggered by a joint Israeli-US attack on Iran that killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other high-profile figures, prompting Iranian retaliatory strikes. The plan, backed by over 250 parliamentary signatures, underscores Iran's efforts to assert greater control over this critical global chokepoint for oil transit.",
