        "content": "<p>Tehran (ANTARA) - Iran has described the United Arab Emirates\u2019 (UAE)\nwithdrawal from OPEC as an unconstructive action, as a negative reaction\nto developments in the region, according to Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry\nspokesman, Esmail Baghaei, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the UAE announced it would leave OPEC (Organisation of\nPetroleum Exporting Countries) and OPEC+ effectively from 1 May.<\/p>\n<p>The UAE Foreign Ministry\u2019s communications director, Afra Mahash Al\nHameli, stated that the decision was a strategic and sovereign choice\nbased on its long-term economic vision.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, it will continue to work closely with partners, strengthen\nmultilateral cooperation, and contribute to the market after its\nwithdrawal from OPEC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is entirely unconstructive when a country wants to withdraw [from\nthe organisation] as a negative reaction [to events in the region] or as\na form of revenge against countries in the region or OPEC countries,\u201d\nBaghaei said in a briefing.<\/p>",
