TEHERAN \u2013 Iran\u2019s Central Military Command has warned residents of\nnorthern Israel to leave their homes immediately if Israel proceeds with\nits threat to attack southern Beirut suburbs. The warning indicates\nIran\u2019s plan for a retaliatory strike in the area.<\/p>\n
In a statement released by government news agency IRNA, the commander\nof Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters said the warning was a response to\nIsrael\u2019s military order for forced displacement in Dahiyeh, Lebanon.<\/p>\n
Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the\nIsraeli military to target \u2018terrorist sites in Beirut\u2019s Dahiyeh\ndistrict\u2019. Netanyahu reiterated this in a video posted on X.<\/p>\n
\u2018There will be no situation where Hezbollah attacks our cities and\ncitizens while its terrorist bases in Beirut\u2019s Dahiyeh remain\nuntouched,\u2019 he stated.<\/p>\n
He added that he had ordered Israeli forces to \u2018deepen\u2019 their\ninvasion of southern Lebanon, claiming they were \u2018destroying Hezbollah\u2019s\nstrongholds\u2019. \u2018Hezbollah is on the run,\u2019 Netanyahu claimed.<\/p>\n
Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated that any ceasefire\nbetween Tehran and Washington \u2018must be comprehensive, including in\nLebanon\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u2018A violation on one front constitutes a breach of the ceasefire\nacross all fronts. The US and Israel are responsible for any\nconsequences of such violations,\u2019 Araghchi wrote on X. The top\ndiplomat\u2019s comments followed Netanyahu\u2019s announcement that he had\nordered military strikes on southern Beirut suburbs.<\/p>\n
The European Union also called on Israel to halt its expanding\nmilitary campaign in Lebanon after Netanyahu stated he had ordered\nfurther strikes on southern Beirut suburbs.<\/p>\n
