Araghchi also clarified the legal status of the Strait of Hormuz\narea, where the US military helicopter crashed. He stated that the\nstrait is by no means international waters but rather a shared territory\nbetween Iran and Oman. The sea lane is also thousands of miles from the\nUS coastline, making the maritime boundaries there very clear.<\/p>\n
\u2018Our Strong Armed Forces are in a state of constant vigilance against\nany violation of Iran\u2019s air, land, or maritime space,\u2019 Araghchi added\nbefore the US retaliatory strikes occurred.<\/p>\n
He also added that the presence of foreign forces near Iranian\nterritorial waters is under constant risk from human error or pure\naccidents. These foreign forces are also highly vulnerable to being\ncaught in crossfire.<\/p>\n
