Iran has once again launched an attack on Kuwait. Iran\u2019s latest\nstrike on Thursday morning (30 July) hit a building owned by a Chinese\ncompany in northern Kuwait, killing one worker.<\/p>\n
In a post on the social media platform X, Kuwait\u2019s Ministry of\nDefence said the Iranian missile strike caused significant damage to the\nbuilding.<\/p>\n
\u201cIran\u2019s heinous aggression targeted a building owned by a Chinese\ncompany in the north of the country, resulting in the death of one\nworker and causing severe material damage to the building,\u201d read a\nstatement issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe relevant authorities immediately began taking the necessary\nmeasures and responding to the incident in coordination with the\nrelevant agencies,\u201d the ministry\u2019s statement added, as reported by the\nAFP and Anadolu Agency news agencies on Thursday (30 July 2026).<\/p>\n
Kuwait\u2019s armed forces reiterated their commitment to protecting the\ncountry\u2019s sovereignty and security, in coordination with the relevant\nauthorities, to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.<\/p>\n
Kuwait is among several Gulf states, along with Jordan, that have\nbeen targeted by Iranian drone and missile attacks since the start of\nthe Middle East war.<\/p>\n
The conflict flared up again on Wednesday (29 July) when the United\nStates military launched its latest wave of attacks against Iran. The\nassault lasted two hours and struck dozens of targets in Iran.\nWashington described the latest strikes as a \u201cforceful response\u201d to\nIranian missiles fired at US forces in the Middle East the previous\nday.<\/p>\n
The US strikes killed a family of three, including a two-year-old\nchild, on the Iranian island of Qeshm, according to Iran\u2019s Fars news\nagency, as reported by AFP on Thursday (30 July 2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe US attack on a residential house in the Chah Tangu area of Qeshm\nkilled three members of a family: the father, the mother, and their\ntwo-year-old child,\u201d Fars reported, citing Hormozgan University of\nMedical Sciences, adding that two other children were injured.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the US military said on Tuesday (28 July) local time that it\nhad intercepted several ballistic missiles launched by Iran towards\nAmerican forces in Jordan. Iranian authorities subsequently confirmed\nthat they had fired ballistic missiles at US military bases in\nJordan.<\/p>\n
President Donald Trump said after the Iranian missiles were\nintercepted that US forces would retaliate. \u201cWe are going to hit them\nvery hard,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
US Central Command (CENTCOM) described the latest strikes as a\n\u201cforceful response to Iran\u2019s attempted attack yesterday on US forces\nbased in the Middle East.\u201d<\/p>\n
CENTCOM said the American strikes began at 8pm ET on Wednesday (0000\nGMT Thursday) and ended at 10pm ET (0200 GMT Thursday).<\/p>\n
