Several other service members \u201csustained minor\nshrapnel injuries and concussions \u2013 and are in the process of returning\nto duty,\u201d according to a statement from US Central Command\n(CENTCOM).<\/p>\n<p>A series of retaliatory strikes by Iran were launched against US\nmilitary installations across the Middle East on Saturday, following\nair, land, and sea bombardment by the US and Israel against the Islamic\nRepublic \u2013 a campaign designated Operation Epic Fury.<\/p>\n<p>Initial reports on Saturday indicated no US casualties. The Iranian government subsequently confirmed\nthat Khamenei was killed in the strikes.<\/p>\n<p>At least 201 people were killed and more than 700 wounded across Iran\nas a result of the US-Israel strikes, according to the Iranian Red\nCrescent Society.
