        "content": "<p>Iran will completely close Tehran\u2019s airspace on Monday as part of the\nfuneral procession arrangements for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali\nKhamenei, the ISNA news agency reported. Flights across the rest of Iran\ncontinued to operate without restrictions on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>However, Tehran\u2019s airspace will be fully shut down on Monday during\nthe main funeral procession. According to a schedule announced by Iran\u2019s\nCivil Aviation Organisation, all regular flights at Mehrabad\nInternational Airport and Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran\nwill be temporarily suspended on Monday (6 July 2026) as the capital\nholds the final tribute ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday (7 July 2026), Mehrabad Airport will resume normal\noperations, while Imam Khomeini International Airport will remain\nclosed. The government also stated that on 9 July, the airspace over the\nnortheastern city of Mashhad and operations at Shahid Hasheminejad\nInternational Airport will be completely halted during the peak of the\nfuneral ceremonies.<\/p>\n<p>Flights in other parts of Iran will operate normally on 7 and 8 July,\nexcept in Mashhad on the final day of the procession.
