Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Tedja Indonesia Institute of Tourism (IPTI)\nhas mapped the potential and development needs of the Saung Eling\nTourism Village, located in Kampung Lembur Sawah, Mulyaharja, Bogor, to\nserve as a basis for assistance tailored to the local community\u2019s\nconditions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe development of Saung Elar needs to be based on the experience,\nneeds, readiness, and decisions of the community, as the party that\nunderstands the area best,\u201d said IPTI academic Pratiwi, S.ST., M.Par.,\nin an official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The activity involved the managers and residents of Saung Eling\nTourism Village, alongside a multi-disciplinary team from IPTI, which\nmapped several aspects including tourism, hospitality, communication,\nMSMEs, digitalisation, financial management, and safety.<\/p>\n
Regarding the tourism aspect, the team identified opportunities to\ndevelop heritage-based spiritual tourism, which relies on historical\ntraces, rural landscapes, Sundanese culture, local gastronomy, and\ncommunity life.<\/p>\n
One cultural potential of particular interest is \u2018Sedekah Bumi\u2019. This\nactivity is considered capable of being developed by strengthening\ncommunity capacity in sponsorship and partnership, event and crowd\nmanagement, as well as media partnership and promotion.<\/p>\n
In terms of hospitality, IPTI highlighted the strengthening of local\nculinary offerings and the readiness of homestays. \u2018Sop lompong\u2019 was\nidentified as a unique culinary dish with potential for development\nwhile maintaining its local character.<\/p>\n
The team also prepared a homestay pocketbook containing room\nstandards, manager obligations, and operational checklists to help\nmaintain consistent service for tourists.<\/p>\n
From a communication perspective, the mapping covered the need for\nmanaging destination identity, information, storytelling, social media,\ninternal communication, stakeholder relations, and the integration of\nMSME and homestay information.<\/p>\n
IPTI also noted that the use of social media, WhatsApp, digital\nreservations, and QRIS transactions has already begun in Saung Eling.\nThe integration of these various channels and data is the next necessary\nstep to support service, marketing, customer management, financial\nrecording, and more structured business evaluation.<\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the activity, the community determined their\nmost urgent needs. Three emerging priorities include MSME development,\nstrengthening homestays, and packaging homestay stays with events to\nincrease occupancy rates.<\/p>\n
Pratiwi stated that a collaborative approach is required so that the\ndevelopment of Saung Eling does not stop at potential mapping, but\ncontinues into assistance that aligns with the community\u2019s conditions\nand capabilities.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis activity is expected to serve as a foundation for continuing\nthe conversation, aligning ideas, and designing forms of collaboration\nthat provide real benefits,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
