        "content": "<p>IPB team to examine worms<\/p>\n<p>BOGOR: A team from the Bogor Institute of Agriculture will be<br>\nsent to Pengasingan hamlet in Rawalumbu Utara, Bekasi, to<br>\ninvestigate the mysterious appearance of thousands of worms in<br>\nthe area.<\/p>\n<p>Soemartono Sosromarsono, an entomologist from the institute,<br>\nsaid on Friday the increase in the worm population might be the<br>\nresult of a decrease in the bird population, thus removing the<br>\nmain predator of the worms.<\/p>\n<p>He said he assumed the worms were from the Lymantriidae<br>\nfamily, and thus were not dangerous. He called on residents not<br>\nto use insecticides on the worms because of the potential harm<br>\nthis could do to the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Residents should also remove weeds and grasses from their<br>\nyards to curb the reproduction of the worms, he said. --JP<\/p>",
