According to the IOC, as part of the initiative, 32 community\nsport and health centres across China are providing facilities and\nactivities for people of various age groups ahead of Olympic Day on 23\nJune, inspired by the IOC\u2019s global initiative titled \u201cLet\u2019s Move\u201d. \u201cThis\ninitiative responds to significant public health challenges in China.\nOnly 37.2 per cent of the country\u2019s population regularly participates in\nsport and physical activity, while 80 per cent of adolescent boys and 85\nper cent of adolescent girls do not meet the physical activity levels\nrecommended by the World Health Organization (WHO),\u201d the IOC stated.\nLaunched in January 2026, the initiative engages communities through a\ncombination of digital and face-to-face outreach activities designed to\nencourage participation in sport and physical activity. In cooperation\nwith the China Institute of Sport Science (CISS), the IOC plans to\nimprove access to health-enhancing sport and physical activity and help\ncreate more active and healthier communities.
