Investors online with JSX<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Foreign investors will soon be able to trade
\nonline through the Jakarta Stock Exchange following a deal on
\nWednesday between banking group DBS Group Holding Ltd. (DBS) and
\nonline financial service firm TD Waterhouse Groups Inc.<\/p>\n
The two companies agreed to enter a joint venture for the
\nestablishment of a regional online financial service company that
\nwould include the Indonesian stock market.<\/p>\n
\"This means we can bring more foreign investors into Indonesia
\nfrom the global and regional markets,\" said David Chang,
\npresident of local brokerage firm PT Vickers Ballas Tamara, a
\nunit of the DBS Group.<\/p>\n
As online trading here is not yet available, Vickers Ballas
\nwill execute the online trading orders from TD Waterhouse, Chang
\nexplained.<\/p>\n
Although prospects of foreign investors trading at the JSX are
\ndim, he said, in the long term the JSX will benefit from its
\ngreater exposure to global investors.<\/p>\n
According to him, TD Waterhouse serves some 14 million retail
