President Prabowo Subianto announced that investment realisation has\nabsorbed more than 3 million workers in Indonesia from 2025 through the\nfirst semester of 2026. The statement was made during the Annual Session\nof the People\u2019s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the\nHouse of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council\n(DPD) at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Friday (14\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
The national investment sector recorded a realisation of Rp1,931\ntrillion throughout 2025, which created 2.7 million jobs. In the first\nsemester of 2026 alone, incoming investment reached Rp1,010 trillion,\nadding 1.4 million new jobs.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo highlighted the resilience of the national\ninvestment rate amid international market turmoil. \u201cAmid global\nuncertainty, investment continues to grow. Throughout 2025, investment\nrealisation reached Rp1,931 trillion and created more than 2.7 million\njobs. In the first semester of 2026 alone, investment realisation\nreached Rp1,010 trillion and has created more than 1.4 million jobs,\u201d\nPrabowo said.<\/p>\n
National economic growth also recorded a positive trend of 5.61 per\ncent in the first quarter of 2026 and 5.45 per cent in the first\nsemester of 2026. This figure represents the highest record in the past\n13 years. The government is targeting an economic growth rate of 6 per\ncent by the end of 2026 through a series of strategic policies. \u201cWith\nthe right, rational, and common-sense policies, I am confident our\neconomic growth by the end of this year can reach 6 per cent,\u201d he\nstated.<\/p>\n
Despite the positive trend, the government stressed that\nmacroeconomic indicators and investment figures are not the primary\ndrivers without effective poverty alleviation. \u201cFor me, growth and\ninvestment are not the end goal. Our goal is the welfare of our people.\nHigh growth that cannot be enjoyed by the majority of our people is of\nno benefit to us,\u201d he said. Future economic policies will be fully\noriented towards job creation and improving the living standards of the\nlower classes. \u201cEvery rupiah of investment must create jobs, must result\nin an improved quality of life for our people, especially those at the\nvery bottom.
