        "content": "<p>Investigation of wealth<\/p>\n<p>I'm writing this letter in response to statements made by<br>\nAmien Rais, chairman of the Muhammadyah, concerning investigating<br>\nthe personal wealth of former president Soeharto and his family.<\/p>\n<p>We must be wise in responding his statement. And we must be<br>\nwise to the fact that Soeharto was not alone during his term in<br>\npower for the past 32 years. As was mentioned by Amien Rais,<br>\nfollowing a legal process, and it was found that the wealth was<br>\nillegally gained, then that wealth should be returned to the<br>\npeople.<\/p>\n<p>As regards to Soeharto, due to his great contribution to the<br>\nnation, a \"pardon\" could possibly be considered. But as far as<br>\nhis children are concerned, if they are proven guilty, there<br>\nshould be \"no pardon\" for them.<\/p>\n<p>As an layman, I wish to suggest the following:<\/p>\n<p>* Investigations should also be conducted against former<br>\npresident Soeharto's ministers and their families, without<br>\nexception.<\/p>\n<p>* All governors, mayors, regents and their respective families<br>\nduring Soeharto's reign should also be investigated.<\/p>\n<p>The silent majority know what has happened during the New<br>\nOrder's rule -- namely corruption, collusion and nepotism.<\/p>\n<p>I hope the era of reform will bring about the desired results<br>\nwith God's blessings.<\/p>\n<p>DADANG R<\/p>\n<p>Bandung, West Java<\/p>",
