        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) interrogated the former\nRegent of Kutai Kartanegara, Rita Widyasari, as a witness on 3 June\n2026. The examination was conducted to deepen the investigation into her\nrelationship with three corporations that have been named as suspects in\nan alleged bribery case involving coal production in Kutai Kartanegara\nRegency, East Kalimantan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe witness is being investigated regarding the corporate\nrelationship involving the receipt of gratifications per metric ton, Ms\nRW,\u201d stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on\nSaturday (6\/6\/2026). Budi added that, alongside Rita, the KPK is\nconducting similar investigations while examining businessman Robert\nPriantono Bonosusatya and advocate Noval Elfarveisa as witnesses in the\ncase.<\/p>\n<p>In this matter, the KPK previously named Rita Widyasari, the\nPresident Director of PT Sawit Golden Prima, Hery Susanto Gun, and the\nCommissioner of PT Media Bangun Bersama, Khairudin, as suspects in an\nalleged bribery case in Kutai Kartanegara on 28 September 2017. Rita is\nalleged to have received bribes amounting to Rp 6 billion in relation to\nthe granting of location permits for oil palm plantations to PT Sawit\nGolden Prima in Kupang Baru Village, Muara Kaman District.<\/p>\n<p>On 16 January 2018, the KPK re-designated Rita and Khairudin as\nsuspects for alleged money laundering offences. During the investigation\nof the case, the KPK seized 91 vehicles, various items of economic\nvalue, five plots of land with a total area of thousands of square\nmetres, and 30 luxury watches from various brands. The seizure was\nannounced on 6 June 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, on 19 February 2025, the KPK revealed that Rita is also\nalleged to have received fund flows related to coal mining of\napproximately 5 US dollars per metric ton of coal.<\/p>\n<p>On 19 February 2026, the KPK named three corporations as suspects in\nthe alleged bribery case related to coal production in Kutai\nKartanegara, namely PT Sinar Kumala Naga, PT Alamjaya Barapratama, and\nPT Bara Kumala Sakti.<\/p>",
