West Jakarta\u2019s official opening of Gropetian Edu Park on Jalan Letjen\nS. Parman, Tomang, Grogol Petamburan, on Thursday, has established the\nsite as an educational public open space in West Jakarta. \u2018We appreciate\nthe efforts of the Grogol Petamburan sub-district and all its staff. The\nsynergy with all related sections in the district has enabled the\ncreation of a public space that is both open and educational,\u2019 said West\nJakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah after the inauguration.<\/p>\n
Previously, the site was a neglected area frequently used as an\nillegal car park. Now, the area has been redesigned and repurposed as a\npublic space for community interaction and as an educational facility.\nIn addition to serving as a gathering place, Gropetian Edu Park includes\nfacilities such as an urban farming garden, a nutrition pond, and a\nchicken-raising area. \u2018It can also function as a very comfortable\nmeeting space. This park also sends a positive message that with\ncreativity, the area can be well designed,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n
Moreover, Iin assessed that the educational park has shown very good\nresults as evidence of community innovation and creativity. \u2018We hope the\nutilisation of Gropetian Edu Park will not be limited to early childhood\nand mothers. The park can be used by various segments of society, from\nchildren and youth to the elderly,\u2019 she added.<\/p>\n
In the same venue, Grogol Petamburan Sub-district head Raditian\nRamajaya said the redesign was undertaken as a form of innovation in\nindependently leveraging resources. Not only physical development,\nRaditian explained that all district SKPDs have prepared a range of\nprogrammes to be integrated with activities at Gropetian Edu Park, such\nas health checks from the Puskesmas and fire-safety education from the\ndistrict\u2019s Gulkarmat Sub-unit.<\/p>\n
Although officially opened to the public, access remains limited to\nthe Early Childhood Education community (PAUD).
