International investors conference held in Bali<\/p>\n
President Megawati Soekarnoputri will address an
\ninternational three-day conference starting Thursday in Nusa
\nDua, Bali aimed to attract investors into the country.<\/p>\n
The conference titled Accessing New Opportunities is scheduled
\nto be attended by over 300 high-level local and international
\ninvestors, Indonesia's regulators and CEOs of Indonesia's leading
\ncorporations, the organizer Euromoney Conference said in a
\nstatement.<\/p>\n
\"The conference will be the first major post-Asian crisis
\nevent that will highlight Indonesia's tremendous gains in the
\nlast two years,\" the statement quoted Coordinating Minister of
\nEconomy Affairs Dorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti as saying.<\/p>\n
Designed as in-country financial roadshow, the event provides
\none-on-one dialog between investors and Indonesia 's governmental
\nofficials, regulators and top CEOs.<\/p>\n
It said the conference was timely due to several reasons,
\nincluding the impending completion of the IMF program in
\nIndonesia; IBRA's almost-completed restructuring and
\nrecapitalization of the banking and financial sector; and solid
\nand steady growth of the economy for the past two years.<\/p>\n
The conference will also look into the government's response
\nto terrorism and security issues, and the continuing process of
\nthe democratic and legal reforms<\/p>\n
Aside from Megawati and Dorodjatun, the conference will
\nfeature other speakers such as Coordinating Minister of Political
\nand Security Affairs Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Minister of
\nFinance Boediono, senior advisor to Deutsche Bank Hubert Neiss,
\nvice chairman of Barclays Capital Sir David Wright, the World
\nBank's vice president for East Asia and Pacific region Jemal-ud-
