        "content": "<p>Intellectual seminar<\/p>\n<p>With Independence Day around the corner, four Indonesian<br>\nintellectual organizations are jointly holding a seminar<br>\non human resources in Jakarta. This seminar, which was officially<br>\nopened by President Soeharto yesterday, is the first of its kind<br>\never held. Obviously, we hail this seminar as an important effort<br>\nto produce quality human resources, which will be much needed by<br>\nthe nation in the coming decades.<\/p>\n<p>Raising the level of human resources is important for two<br>\nreasons: First, to keep in step with progress of science and<br>\ntechnology, it is highly desirable to have quality human<br>\nresources that are physically, mentally and spiritually capable<br>\nof managing development while diminishing its negative impact.<br>\nSecond, the seminar reflects the sense of responsibility of all<br>\nparties in laying solid foundations that are inspired by moral,<br>\nethical and spiritual values.<\/p>\n<p>Through the forum the intellectuals are demonstrating their<br>\nability to maintain and solidify the unity and integrity of the<br>\nnation. The Indonesian intellectuals have played and will<br>\ncontinue to play crucial role in the nation&apos;s struggle.<br>\nHopefully, the intellectuals will not stop with this seminar but<br>\nproceed to establish other forums to deliberate on other national<br>\nissues.<\/p>\n<p>-- Suara Pembaruan, Jakarta<\/p>",
