The project is part of the\nTrans-Java Toll Network, playing a crucial role in enhancing\nconnectivity across Central Java\u2019s northern coastal region and\nfacilitating the movement of goods and people along the Pantura\ncorridor.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike typical toll road projects, the Semarang-Demak Toll Road is\ndesigned as a multifunctional infrastructure that not only supports\ntransport connectivity but also integrates as a sea dike. The project is\nexpected to help address tidal flooding issues in Semarang and\nsurrounding coastal areas, providing dual benefits as both a transport\ninfrastructure and a long-term flood control solution.<\/p>\n<p>As of May 2026, WIKA\u2019s progress on the Semarang-Demak Toll Road\nSection 1B has reached 83.39%. This includes key works such as main road\nconstruction, on and off ramps, elevated bridges, combi walls, and sand\nembankments over bamboo mats.<\/p>\n<p>In execution, WIKA has implemented specialised construction methods\ndue to the project\u2019s coastal location with soft soil characteristics\nposing significant technical challenges.
