Perusahaan Umum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia (Peruri) is\npushing for the strengthening of cybersecurity by integrating security\naspects into work processes, technology, and organisational governance.\nThis step is considered vital amidst the acceleration of digital\ntransformation, which increases security risks to systems and data.<\/p>\n
Peruri\u2019s Director of Digital Business, Edwin Purwandesi, stated that\nstrengthening cybersecurity cannot be achieved solely through awareness\nprogrammes for employees. Such efforts must be accompanied by the\nprovision of infrastructure, devices, platforms, and enforcement\nmechanisms that are integrated with operational activities.<\/p>\n
Edwin shared this during the Executive Forum titled \u201cThe Internal\nFrontline: Fixing the Human Factor in Cybersecurity\u201d as part of the\nADIGSI Cyber Resilience Day 2026 held at the Jakarta International Expo\n(JIExpo), Jakarta, in August 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we provide awareness but do not provide the necessary tools and\nplatforms, that awareness will lose its meaning. Let us continue to\npromote awareness, but also prepare the appropriate frameworks and\nplatforms to support that awareness,\u201d said Edwin.<\/p>\n
According to him, a security approach must also be applied from the\ninitial design stage of a system through the concept of \u2018security by\ndesign\u2019. This approach is necessary to ensure that systems maintain\nlayers of protection when employees face urgent conditions or situations\nthat could potentially lead to the bypassing of procedures.<\/p>\n
Consequently, security will not only depend on individual compliance\nbut will also be supported by systems designed to minimise risk.<\/p>\n
At Peruri, the implementation of security by design is carried out\nfrom the very beginning of development. Every digital talent and partner\nis required to undergo an onboarding process and sign an integrity pact.\nThey must also undergo a risk analysis before obtaining limited system\naccess based on their role and risk level, known as risk-based\naccess.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, every system undergoes phased testing before being used\nin operations. Testing includes Quality Assurance (QA) Tests, Function\nTests, and Security Tests before a system enters the production or\n\u2018go-to-production\u2019 stage.<\/p>\n
Peruri is also adopting technologies such as Large Risk Models (LRM)\nand Artificial Intelligence (AI). These technologies are used to help\nautomatically detect and predict potential security vulnerabilities\nwithin programming code.<\/p>\n
The use of such technology is part of the effort to anticipate the\nhuman factor in cybersecurity, particularly procedural errors that may\noccur due to high dynamics and work demands.<\/p>\n
Edwin believes that strengthening cybersecurity must be built through\na combination of employee understanding, the use of technology, and\nintegrated governance. This approach is expected to strengthen\ntechnological and data protection during the digital transformation\nprocess.<\/p>\n
