It appears that most facilities in Jakarta and other large
\nIndonesian towns are placed in a haphazard manner. Just imagine,
\na pedestrian bridge here, a few steps farther away is a bus stop,
\npublic telephones somewhere within sight, a post box not far from
\nthe telephones, and the zebra crossing a little further away.
\nWhat a mess!<\/p>\n
Why don't they think of placing all these facilities close to
\neach other? Or in other words building integrated facilities.
\nThey could also fix a loud speaker at bus stops especially tuned
\nto the state radio so that waiting passengers could listen to
\nmusic and news broadcasts.<\/p>\n
Jakarta should be made an exemplary city to be copied by other
\nprovincial capitals. The cost for building such integrated
\nfacilities could be borne fully by the city administration, or in
\nconjunction with the private sector. In return, the concerned
\nprivate company could place an ad at that particular place for a
\ncertain period to be mutually agreed upon.<\/p>\n
