Injured crash victims remain hospitalized<\/p>\n

Seven people who were seriously injured in a bus and train
\ncollision in Sragen, Central Java, on Monday, are still
\nundergoing intensive medical treatment at three hospitals in
\nSurakarta and Sragen.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, 15 others who were killed in the deadly
\ncollision were buried on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Thoriq, Anggita, Muslikah and Sunah are being treated at the
\nBrayat Minulyo General Hospital in Solo, Tri Muryati is
\nundergoing intensive treatment at the Moewardi General Hospital
\nin Solo while Wahyudi and Tarjono are at the Yakssi General
\nHospital in Semarang.<\/p>\n
Tabien, one of the injured victim's relatives, said in
\nSurakarta on Tuesday that all the victims would probably need a
\nlong time to recover.<\/p>\n
He explained that Thoriq was still on the critical list while
\nMuslikah who suffered a fractured spine and Sunah whose left leg
\nwas broken would undergo major surgery.<\/p>\n
He confirmed that state-owned railway company PT Kereta Api
\nIndonesia (PT KAI) and insurance company PT Jasa Raharja have
\nexpressed their commitment to pay compensation to the relatives
\nof the deceased and provide financial assistance for the wounded
\nvictims until they fully recovered.<\/p>\n
All the victims and those killed in the incident were family
\nmembers. They were all victims of a collision between a train and
\na passenger bus transporting them from Tegal to Sragen to attend
\na wedding party in Gondang village in Sragen regency.<\/p>\n
The tragedy occurred when the economy class train Matarmaja
\nwhich was on its way from Jakarta to Malang, East Java, hit the
\nbus and dragged it some 200 meters at 2:20 a.m. on Monday,
\nkilling 15 of the bus passengers instantly.<\/p>\n
The barrier at the railway crossing did not function well and
\nthe bell did not ring. Sudarmono Widagdo who was on day duty was
\nnamed key suspect in the collision case.<\/p>\n
The newlyweds Suparjo and Saparoh were among the dead victims
\nand their bodies were buried in Gandong while the bodies of the
\n13 others were brought to Tegal on Monday for burial in their
\nhome village in the Tegal regency on Tuesday.<\/p>",
