        "content": "<p>PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero), operating as InJourney Airports,\nis carrying out preparations for the optimisation of Husein Sastranegara\nAirport in Bandung. InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad R.\nPahlevi stated that this move aligns with government policy through the\nDirectorate General of Civil Aviation\u2019s letter Number\nAU.102\/1\/8\/DRJU.DAU\/2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on the letter, Husein Sastranegara Airport can serve scheduled\ndomestic and international commercial air transport operations using jet\nand propeller aircraft,\u201d Pahlevi said in a written statement in Jakarta\non Wednesday (24\/6\/2026). He added that the airport can also serve\nnon-scheduled domestic and international commercial air transport, as\nwell as non-commercial domestic and international air transport.\nCurrently, the airport\u2019s operations are limited to scheduled domestic\ncommercial flights using propeller aircraft for intra-Java routes.<\/p>\n<p>The company has established an Operational Readiness Activation and\nTransition (ORAT) team to execute the preparatory steps. Pahlevi\nexplained that the preparations refer to the Directorate General of\nCivil Aviation\u2019s letter, which emphasises that security, safety, and\nservice aspects must meet requirements to ensure the optimisation runs\nwell and smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful for the support from the Ministry of Transportation,\nthe Indonesian Air Force, BP BUMN, Danantara, and InJourney in carrying\nout all the preparatory steps for the optimisation of Husein\nSastranegara Airport,\u201d Pahlevi said. He noted that coordination is also\nongoing with all parties, including the Commander of the Husein\nSastranegara Air Force Base, airlines, ground handling operators,\nImmigration, Customs, and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>On the safety aspect, preparations are underway to increase the\ncapacity of the Airport Rescue &amp; Fire Fighting (ARFF) category from\nthe current level 5 to level 7. \u201cThese preparations include adding\nfacilities such as foam tenders or standby vehicles on the airside to\nmaintain safety,\u201d he said. On the security aspect, InJourney Airports is\npreparing additional Aviation Security personnel to be assigned at\nHusein Sastranegara Airport to achieve the required security system.\nPahlevi stated that airport security will also be supported by various\nfacilities such as handheld metal detectors, walkthrough metal\ndetectors, CCTV, and other security devices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreparations are also being carried out on the airside, including\nresurfacing the runway on several sectors to support jet aircraft\noperations, as well as ensuring the readiness of taxiways and aircraft\nparking aprons,\u201d Pahlevi said. Regarding the service aspect, he added\nthat the tidying up of passenger terminals in both domestic and\ninternational areas has commenced.
