        "content": "<p>Informatics to open more schools<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Computer school chain PT Informatics RT<br>\nIndonesia (PTIRTI) is set to expand to cater to the local<br>\nmarket's growing demand for information technology skills and<br>\nknowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Company general manager Joey Chansuyco said yesterday the<br>\ncompany planned to open three new computer training and education<br>\ncenters each year in the country's major cities, including<br>\nJakarta, Surabaya, Medan and Ujungpandang, in its bid to become a<br>\nleading computer chain school in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The company currently operates three computer training and<br>\neducation centers in Jakarta, at Kramat, Pejompongan and Kelapa<br>\nGading.<\/p>\n<p>PTIRTI is a joint venture between Informatics Holding Ltd of<br>\nSingapore and PT Rig Tenders Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Informatics Holding operates 143 computer training and<br>\neducation centers in 23 countries in Asia and Africa under a<br>\nfranchise system.<\/p>\n<p>PTIRTI signed yesterday a franchise agreement with PT Permata<br>\nIndah to operate another computer training and education center<br>\nat Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Permata Indah is active in general trade and has gas station,<br>\ndrugstore and clinic chains across the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to the agreement, Permata Indah will construct a<br>\nfour-story Informatics Computer School in the area, which is<br>\nscheduled for completion early next year.<\/p>\n<p>Franchisee Permata Indah had to pay a S$300,000 franchise fee<br>\nplus a 10 percent monthly revenue to PTIRTI in exchange for<br>\ntechnology systems provided by the company, said Joey.<\/p>\n<p>\"Permata Indah should invest another S$300,000 to buy<br>\ncomputers, furniture and cover preoperating costs,\" Joey said.<\/p>\n<p>PTIRTI franchise marketing manager Paul Caparas said<br>\nInformatics Computer School provided short-term and long-term<br>\ncomputer courses for individuals and corporations.<\/p>\n<p>He said Informatics Schools were affiliated with several top<br>\nuniversities in Britain, Australia and the United States, which<br>\nenable its students to pursue degrees in information technology.<br>\n(jsk)<\/p>",
