        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The World Bank projects Indonesia\u2019s national waste volume\nin 2025 will reach 9.9-12.4 million tonnes per year, or 13.98 percent of\ntotal waste accumulation.<\/p>\n<p>In a press statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, Ajinomoto\nIndonesia presented an initiative to support sustainable environmental\ndevelopment for people and communities through packaging containing\npaper-based materials, or paper packaging, to replace plastic and paper\nmaterials, thereby reducing plastic usage by 30 percent for its\nproducts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope this initiative can contribute to realising a cleaner and\nhealthier Indonesia whilst providing tangible impact, encouraging more\nresponsible behaviour and inspiring many others,\u201d said Head of Corporate\nCommunications at PT Ajinomoto Indonesia Grant Senjaya.<\/p>\n<p>The effort is claimed to reduce plastic usage projected to reach\n1,736 tonnes by 2025, whilst also serving as a commitment to supporting\nthe target of reducing plastic by 30 percent by 2029\/2030.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond that, collaborative efforts with the wider ecosystem are also\npresented through waste stations located in Surabaya and Mojokerto for\ndepositing sorted waste.<\/p>\n<p>Collaboration with waste banks in East Jakarta, Bekasi, Karawang,\nMojokerto and Surabaya is being carried out to strengthen\ncommunity-based waste management, increase awareness of the importance\nof separating plastic waste from other waste to prevent environmental\npollution, so that in the future waste recycling can be conducted for\nmore useful products.<\/p>",
