Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza stated that the effort\ninvolves pushing for the establishment of a Preferential Trade Agreement\n(PTA) to reduce tariff barriers and enhance the competitiveness of\nnational industry. \u201cMorocco holds a strategic position as a gateway to\nNorth Africa and the Mediterranean region. We see a great opportunity to\nleverage this advantage to expand access for Indonesian industrial\nproducts to regional markets, while strengthening partnerships in future\nindustrial sectors such as aerospace, the halal industry,\npharmaceuticals, and new renewable energy,\u201d he said in a statement\nconfirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Beyond expanding exports, the cooperation is directed at securing\nsupplies of strategic industrial raw materials such as phosphate and\naluminium. The diplomatic relationship between Indonesia and Morocco,\nestablished since 1956, serves as a foundation for strengthening this\neconomic partnership.<\/p>\n
Bilateral trade potential is supported by rising Indonesian exports\nto Morocco, including manufactured products, vegetable oils, rubber and\nits derivatives, footwear, textiles, machinery, and electrical\nequipment. To further advance cooperation, the Ministry of Industry has\ninvited the Moroccan government to accelerate the finalisation of a\nMutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) on Halal Certification, which is\nexpected to be signed in May 2026.
