Surabaya \u2013 Indonesia\u2019s Industry Minister, Muhammad Sarmuji, said\nindustrial estates are an effective way to promote industrialisation. He\nsaid the key to developing them was support from regional governments in\npreparing land and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndustrial estates are actually a good way to drive\nindustrialisation because they offer a complete package. They just need\nsupport from regional governments to prepare the infrastructure, land\nand other requirements,\u201d Sarmuji told reporters at Gedung Negara Grahadi\nin Surabaya on Monday (12 October 2026).<\/p>\n
Asked about the possibility of building industrial estates in East\nJava, Sarmuji said this would depend on the potential of each area. \u201cIt\nwill depend on which areas have the potential to become industrial\nestates,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Sarmuji made the remarks after receiving the gold Jer Basuki Mawa\nBeya medal from the East Java Provincial Government.<\/p>\n
The award was presented by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar\nParawansa during a ceremony marking the province\u2019s 81st anniversary. The\nprovincial government recognised Sarmuji for his dedication to\ndeveloping East Java.<\/p>\n
Sarmuji also praised the performance of the East Java Provincial\nGovernment. He said data presented by Governor Khofifah showed that\ndevelopment in the province was progressing well, with economic growth\nabove the national average and the highest in Java.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat shows the provincial government\u2019s tremendous hard work.\nCongratulations to East Java on reaching its 81st anniversary, and on\nits achievements, which continue to improve,\u201d Sarmuji said.<\/p>\n
He regarded the award as an assessment by the governor and her team\nof his contributions over the years.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am grateful for this award. As an East Java resident, it is\nalready extraordinary to feel that the governor and her team have taken\nnotice of me. The fact that they have followed my journey so far is an\nhonour in itself.
