This step\nis being taken amid global challenges that continue to loom over the\nindustrial sector. Cross-ministry coordination is necessary to ensure\nthat the policies adopted can address the needs of business actors. \u201cHow\ncan the manufacturing sector contribute more, provide greater support to\nnational economic growth. We all know that the manufacturing sector is\nthe backbone of the economy,\u201d Agus stated at the Ministry of Finance\noffice on Tuesday (3\/5\/2026). He emphasised that the performance of the\nmanufacturing sector has shown a positive trend in recent years. In\nfact, the growth of this sector has even surpassed national economic\ngrowth, an achievement that has not occurred in more than a decade. \u201cIts\ncontribution to GDP has been rising year by year, and last year\u2019s\nmanufacturing growth was recorded above national economic growth, which\nhad not happened for 14 years prior,\u201d he said. In that meeting, Agus\nmentioned that the two ministries dissected various fundamental issues\nhindering industrial performance. The main focus was directed towards\nfinding solutions that could be implemented immediately.
