        "content": "<p>Industries pollute Cisadane river<\/p>\n<p>An official said that factories located along the bank of the<br>\nCisadane river in West Java dumped their liquid chemical waste<br>\ninto the river, creating serious water pollution.<\/p>\n<p>Chusfani Kartadikaria, the head of the state-owned Water<br>\nCompany (PDAM) in Tangerang, West Java, told Antara late last<br>\nweek that the pollution had affected the drinking water<br>\nproduction in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Chusfani said that PDAM had to use up more spending, between<br>\nRp 100 million and Rp 150 million each month, to purify the<br>\npolluted water of Cisadane.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We count it as a loss,&quot; he said, adding that reports had been<br>\nsent to other government agencies to impose sanctions on those<br>\nmanufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>Tangerang, a home to hundreds of newly-established factories<br>\nranging from garment to paper, is a part of the Greater Jakarta<br>\narea.
