        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Industrial Estates Association\n(HKI) is confident that a cooperation agreement worth Rp1.17 trillion\nbetween Wiraraja Indonesia and the UK\u2019s Polythene UK Ltd will spur the\nsector\u2019s contribution to the national economy, driven by increased\ninvestment flows and manufacturing sector strengthening.<\/p>\n<p>HKI Chairman Akhmad Ma\u2019ruf Maulana stated that the entry of new\ninvestment is crucial to accelerating industrial growth while bolstering\nIndonesia\u2019s economic competitiveness. \u201cCurrently, we need the rapid\nrealisation of investment into Indonesia,\u201d he said in a statement\nconfirmed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The cooperation was marked by the signing of a Joint Venture\nAgreement between PT Wiraraja Indonesia and Polythene UK Ltd, valued at\napproximately \u00a350 million, at the Indonesian Embassy in London. The\nagreement focuses on investment, technology transfer, and the\ndevelopment of sustainable, value-added manufacturing industries.<\/p>\n<p>The signing was the culmination of a series of business visits by PT\nWiraraja Indonesia to the United Kingdom that began on 23 June 2026. The\nprocess was facilitated by the Indonesian Embassy in London, the\nIndonesia Investment Promotion Centre (IIPC) London, and the Ministry of\nInvestment and Downstreaming\/BKPM as part of efforts to strengthen\nbilateral investment flows and economic partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>In a confirmed official statement from HKI, Indonesian Ambassador to\nthe UK, Ireland, and the International Maritime Organization, Desra\nPercaya, said the cooperation reflects the growing trust between\nIndonesian and British businesses and a commitment to building long-term\npartnerships that add value for both nations.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond strengthening Indonesia\u2013UK economic relations, the agreement\nis also part of the implementation of the UK\u2013Indonesia New Strategic\nPartnership, which is expected to strengthen industrial supply chains,\naccelerate technology transfer, create jobs, and promote sustainable\nindustrial development in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the Ministry of Industry recorded that industrial estates\nin Indonesia have absorbed 2.35 million workers, a 15 percent increase\nfrom 2024, with realised investment reaching Rp6,744.58 trillion.\nDirector General of Industrial Resilience, Regionalisation, and\nInternational Access, Tri Supondy, explained during a meeting with House\nof Representatives Commission VII on Monday (29 June) that Indonesia\ncurrently has 179 industrial estates covering a total area of 101,351.45\nhectares with an occupancy rate of 57.20 percent.<\/p>\n<p>These estates host 11,970 companies or tenants, with industrial\nestate area growth of 1,508.02 hectares. He noted that these\nachievements demonstrate that industrial estates have developed into\ncentres of national manufacturing activity capable of attracting\nsustainable investment while enhancing Indonesia\u2019s industrial\ncompetitiveness. Furthermore, Tri conveyed that the development of\nindustrial estates has shown a positive trend in recent years, with the\nnumber of estates increasing by 51.69 percent since 2020, or an addition\nof 61 estates.<\/p>",
