JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com \u2013 The online transportation platform, InDrive, is\nrolling out an initiative to provide access to social protection through\nthe BPJS Ketenagakerjaan programme for its driver partners.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor BPJS, we previously facilitated registration with special rates.\nNow, we are also committed to supporting selected drivers to receive\nBPJS Ketenagakerjaan facilities,\u201d said Rio in Jakarta, Wednesday\n(25\/2\/2026).<\/p>\n
He added that the initiative is also strengthened by government\nsupport, which provides a 50% subsidy for contributions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the government supporting 50% of the contributions, we want to\nensure that more drivers are protected. Our commitment remains the same,\nnamely prioritizing transparency and fairness for a healthy ecosystem\nfor all parties,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a representative from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Febrian\nKholillulah, welcomed the collaboration and encouraged the expansion of\nmembership among online transportation drivers.<\/p>\n
He affirmed that the government has allocated a budget to provide a\n50% contribution discount as part of a social protection stimulus.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe government covers 50% of the contributions. This discount is\nprovided directly to help informal sector workers such as online drivers\nwho have a high level of vulnerability in the field,\u201d said Febrian.<\/p>\n
According to him, the driver profession is included in the category\nof high-risk jobs, so social security protection such as Work Accident\nInsurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) is crucial.<\/p>\n
He also requested InDrive\u2019s support in helping to socialize the\nprogramme so that more partners register.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope that InDrive can help socialize this programme so that\nmembership is even wider. This protection is very important, especially\nconsidering the dynamics in the field which are quite vulnerable,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
In addition to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, InDrive also provides Eid\nal-Fitr assistance (BHR) to its driver partners.<\/p>\n
BHR is an annual initiative for drivers with certain performance\nqualifications.<\/p>\n
\u201cThematic programmes such as BHR are part of our ongoing commitment,\u201d\nsaid Rio.<\/p>\n
He explained that the BHR programme is designed to provide support\nthat is relevant to the needs of drivers, while also encouraging\nincreased awareness and ability to access social protection\nindependently.<\/p>\n
