        "content": "<p>Indosat's director sacked<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): PT Indosat's finance director, Herman<br>\nSimanjuntak, has been dismissed due to an alleged irregularity in<br>\nthe payment of the company's dividend to the government.<\/p>\n<p>Sofyan Djalil, a senior assistant of the state minister for<br>\nthe empowerment of state enterprises, said on Thursday that<br>\nHerman was dismissed after an irregularity was found in the<br>\nhandling of the government's dividend.<\/p>\n<p>According to the audit report made by independent accountant<br>\nPrasetyo Utomo &amp; Co, Herman deviated about Rp 22.5 billion in<br>\ninterest gains from the government's dividends.<\/p>\n<p>Sofyan said that Indosat kept the government's dividends worth<br>\nRp 112 billion due to a \"problem\" in the transfer of the funds to<br>\nthe state treasury.<\/p>\n<p>The interest gains of the funds were, however, transferred to<br>\nthe former finance director's account.<\/p>\n<p>Sofyan said the dismissal will be effective on Sept. 15 and<br>\nHerman's duties would be carried out by Indosat's directors for<br>\ncommerce and business development.
