        "content": "<p>Indosat joins WorldPartners<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): State-owned PT Indosat has joined WorldPartners,<br>\nan alliance of world-class telecommunications operators, to boost<br>\nits competitive edge.<\/p>\n<p>Indosat's commercial director, Bambang Sulistyo, said<br>\nyesterday that his company had been certified by WorldPartners in<br>\nlate May to introduce frame relay services.<\/p>\n<p>\"By joining WorldPartners, Indosat will be able to serve<br>\nmultinational companies which operate branches in Indonesia with<br>\nWorldPartners' network,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>WorldPartners was set up in 1993 by three companies, AT&amp;T of<br>\nthe United States, SingTel of Singapore and KDD of Japan. By June<br>\n25, WorldPartners had 16 members covering the Asia-Pacific, North<br>\nAmerica, Europe and the Middle East with services provided in 32<br>\nnations and territories.<\/p>\n<p>About 450 multinational companies used WorldPartners'<br>\nnetworks, Bambang said.<\/p>\n<p>Indosat has also set up Acacia, a joint venture with six major<br>\nASEAN telecommunications carriers.
