        "content": "<p>Surabaya, West Java (ANTARA News) - The competitiveness of Indonesian workers ranked the 35th among 58 countries surveyed by International Management Development (IMD) in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>\"Indonesia`s ranking was still below Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand,\" Manpower and Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar said in Surabaya Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>It is therefore no surprise that a survey by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in May 2010 showed that the unemployment rate in Indonesia was very high, totaling 8.59 people, or 7.41 pct of a 116 million people work force,\" he said commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Indonesian Islamic Students Movement (PMII).<\/p>\n<p>\"By 2014 the open unemployment rate is 5 to 6 percent, which means that the unemployment rate could be reduced from 1.87 to 2.18 pct compared to last year`s 7.87 pct,\" he said.
