        "content": "<p>During this transition period of perhaps the next two to three years,\nit may first be established in Jakarta, before later being further\ndeveloped in both Jakarta and Bali.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Investment and Downstream\nIndustry\/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Perkasa\nRoeslani said the Indonesian International Financial Centre (PFII) has\nthe potential to operate in Jakarta, requiring two to three years to\nbecome an internationally recognised financial hub.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to journalists\u2019 questions at the Presidential Palace\nComplex in Jakarta on Thursday, the Minister of Investment and\nDownstream Industry\/Head of BKPM said President Prabowo Subianto has\nasked for the PFII to be swiftly followed up after the House of\nRepresentatives approved the bill on the PFII, which was passed into law\nat a plenary session on Tuesday (21\/7).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe plan is indeed for it to be established in Bali. However,\npreparations may be needed for perhaps two or three years until it\nbecomes an international-class financial centre,\u201d said Rosan, who also\nserves as CEO of Danantara Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the initial capital to establish the PFII, he said the\ncentre plans to use the Danareksa building located in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Concerning the establishment of the PFII, Rosan said he has met with\na number of investors who have given a positive response to the\nfinancial centre.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa targeted the\nIndonesian International Financial Centre (PFII) to begin operations in\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Purbaya also said the State Budget (APBN) would only be used as a\nreserve fund for the operational needs of the Indonesian International\nFinancial Centre (PFII) if required, not as the main source of\nfinancing.<\/p>\n<p>Initial funding for the construction of the PFII will primarily come\nfrom investors\u2019 own pockets, including Danantara, so the involvement of\nthe state budget is merely anticipatory in nature.<\/p>",
