        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 The Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of\nIndonesia, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, said the government is working to\nimprove the efficiency of the hajj pilgrimage by reducing the duration\nof Indonesian pilgrims\u2019 stay in Saudi Arabia through additional flight\nslots from both countries.<\/p>\n<p>The minister said the matter was discussed in his meeting with Saudi\nArabia\u2019s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh bin Nasser\nAl-Jasser, who expressed support for the plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis afternoon, our discussion related to, first, the Saudi\ngovernment\u2019s strong support for our plan to build Kampung Haji, and they\nhope construction can begin soon,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the construction of Kampung Haji, Minister Irfan said\nboth parties also discussed steps to improve the efficiency of\nIndonesia\u2019s hajj arrangements by reducing pilgrims\u2019 length of stay in\nSaudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also requested, in order to make our hajj implementation more\nefficient, to reduce the length of stay in Saudi Arabia by adding flight\nslots from Saudi Arabia as well as from Indonesia, so that this will\nshorten the stay in Saudi Arabia. Alhamdulillah, His Excellency the\nSaudi Transport Minister also gave his support,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>When asked whether this efficiency measure was intended to reduce the\ncost of hajj borne by pilgrims, Irfan said discussions on cost\ncomponents followed a separate mechanism.
