Indonesia's forex reserves decrease to $16.11 billion<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's net foreign reserves decreased to
\nUS$16.11 billion in the week ending July 30, from $16.14 billion
\nthe previous week, the central bank said in its latest weekly
\nreport.<\/p>\n
Bank Indonesia attributed the decrease in the country's net
\nforeign reserves to the repayment of foreign loans.<\/p>\n
It said net international reserves were still above the $14.7
\nbillion target set by the International Monetary Fund.<\/p>\n
Gross international reserves -- net foreign exchange reserves
\nplus outstanding foreign exchange contracts -- also decreased by
\n$31.5 million to $26.59 billion.<\/p>\n
Net claims on the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency
\nslightly increased to Rp 14.44 trillion, from Rp 14.43 trillion
\nthe previous week, while net claims on the government were up Rp
\n2.86 trillion to Rp 129.16 trillion.<\/p>\n
Open Market Operations contracted by Rp 1.24 trillion to minus
\nRp 89.41 trillion, due to the auction of central bank promissory
\nnotes (SBIs).<\/p>\n
The central bank said net domestic assets during the week
\nincreased by Rp 2.58 trillion to minus Rp 43.62 trillion.<\/p>\n
It noted the level was below the IMF-adjusted target of minus
\nRp 32.95 trillion. (udi)<\/p>\n
