        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 The National Chinese New Year Festival 2577 officially\nopens at Banteng Field from 22 February to 3 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Carrying the theme \u201cLunar New Year Harmony Nusantara\u201d, this event is\ndescribed as Indonesia\u2019s first national Chinese New Year festival\ncentred in an open public space, coinciding with the month of\nRamadan.<\/p>\n<p>The celebration is the culmination of Chinese New Year activities\nthat have been held since 13 February 2026 across various cities in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>In Jakarta, Banteng Field has been transformed into a cultural\nfestival area, featuring bazaars of hundreds of local brands, dining\ncentres for breaking the fast, and shopping spaces for pre-Eid\npurchases.<\/p>\n<p>The festival is open to the public free of charge and runs daily from\n15:00 to 22:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time).<\/p>\n<p>The festival is described not merely as a celebration of Chinese\nculture, but also as a stage for creative economic collaboration open to\nall segments of society.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Lantern Festival and Lunar New Year Parade\nNusantara, visitors can enjoy an Open-Air Museum of Chinese Cultural\nAcculturation, Food Festival, Arts &amp; Creative markets, free health\nscreening services, and film installations and arts performances.<\/p>\n<p>The organisers announced that President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled\nto attend alongside members of the Red and White Cabinet as a\ndemonstration of support for the cultural celebration that strengthens\nnational unity.<\/p>\n<p>Mass lion dance and dragon dance performances, musical shows,\ntraditional dances, and performances by national artists will be the\nhighlights on the final evening.<\/p>\n<p>Officials stated that Indonesia wishes to affirm its position as an\nactive host on the global stage.<\/p>",
