Indonesians arrested in China<\/p>\n
BEIJING (AP): Police in the northeastern city of Dalian have
\narrested two Indonesians and two Chinese and shut down an
\nunderground factory for processing the illicit drug ecstasy, the
\nstate-run Xinhua News Agency reported Saturday.<\/p>\n
Police seized more than 6,000 tablets of ecstasy, known in
\nChina as the \"head-shaking drug,\" 17 kilograms of raw materials
\nfor making the drug and 50 grams of the menthamphetamine known as
\n\"ice,\" the report said.<\/p>\n
Indonesian citizens Herman Utomo and Betty Anie Arifin were
\narrested in connection with the case. Two Chinese suspected of
\nhelping the run the workshop and sell the drugs, Yu Fuyao and Li
\nJuan, were also arrested, Xinhua said.<\/p>\n
According to the report, the underground drug workshop had
\nonly started up early this month.<\/p>\n
Chinese authorities have often imposed harsh punishments,
\nincluding the death penalty, in their effort to battle a
\nresurgence in trafficking and use of illicit drugs.<\/p>",
