Tumelap<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's wrestlers have a slight edge over<br>\nVietnam as action on the mat concludes today.<\/p>\n<p>Host wrestlers stayed atop the medal table after the third day<br>\nof freestyle wrestling yesterday, adding three golds, one silver<br>\nand one bronze for a total of seven golds, six silvers and two<br>\nbronzes.<\/p>\n<p>Breathing down Indonesia's neck is Vietnam with seven golds,<br>\nthree silvers and four bronzes, followed by the Philippines with<br>\none gold, four silvers and eight bronzes.<\/p>\n<p>An Indonesian coach, Lowedyk, said he was satisfied with the<br>\nteam's overall performance yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\"We were expecting to get golds. We projected three golds and<br>\nwe got them,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>\"For Saturday, we are targeting between three and four golds.<br>\nBut, we'll have to be very careful because our strongest rival,<br>\nVietnam, will also do their best to seize the golds.\"<\/p>\n<p>Three of the five Indonesian wrestlers competing yesterday --<br>\nSuryadi Gunawan, Andri Fahruriadi and Dialex Sinaga -- won the<br>\ngolds in the 54 kg, 63 kg and 97 kg divisions.<\/p>\n<p>Two other Indonesians, Dedi Damhudi and Sukahar, got silver<br>\nand bronze in 48 kg and 76 kg.<\/p>\n<p>Dedi was considered to have a good chance of defeating<br>\nVietnam's Tran Van Son. He lost by seven points, although he<br>\nmissed several opportunities to gain extra points.<\/p>\n<p>Lowedyk said Dedi's had been unable to stay with Tran during<br>\nthe five-minute bout due to poor stamina.<\/p>\n<p>In the popular 54 kg division, Supriyadi defeated Vietnam's<br>\nDoi Dang Hy after throwing his opponent approximately halfway<br>\nthrough the bout.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Andri collected his gold in a grueling fight<br>\nagainst Vietnam's Nguyen Hu Dinh.<\/p>\n<p>Andri was given two parterre sanctions for excessive passivity<br>\nduring the bout.<\/p>\n<p>He handled the difficult situation by producing impressive<br>\nrollovers from the kneeling position to turn the tables on the<br>\nVietnamese. Andri won 4-1.<\/p>\n<p>Compatriot Sinaga was involved in a highly aggressive bout<br>\nagainst Philippine Alex Valdez in the last matchup of the night.<\/p>\n<p>Sinaga, who was warned by the referee for throwing his<br>\nopponent to the side, collected his points gradually to produce<br>\nfour one-point and one three-point. Valdez produced a single one-<br>\npoint in the 1-8 loss.<\/p>",
