Indonesian women win ABF final<\/p>\n

Indonesian bowler Putty Armein won on Sunday the Asian Bowling
\nFederation (ABF) tour women's final at home after beating
\nteammate Novie Phang 193-187.<\/p>\n
Both bowlers appeared to have the jitters in the final match,
\nwhich was attended by the Indonesian National Sport Committee
\n(KONI) Chairman Agum Gumelar.<\/p>\n
In early frames, Novie succeeded with double strikes, while
\nPutty was forced to settle for spares.<\/p>\n
But Putty was able to bounce back by making double strikes
\nafter several poor shots.<\/p>\n
Putty also had some luck in the final as she only made one
\nsplit, while Novie made two splits with the last split being made
\nin the final frame.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Sunday, Putty played much better in the semifinals
\nby defeating Evelyn Chan of Singapore 246-216.<\/p>\n
In the other semifinal, Novie also made a high score of 236 to
\nbeat Lai Kin Ngoh of Malaysia, who scored 204.<\/p>\n
\"Well, in the final, I was so nervous, but thank God, I
\nfinally won,\" she said after her victory.<\/p>\n
With her victory, Putty earned the first prize of $2,500,
\nwhile Novie took home $1,300.<\/p>\n
In men's singles, Shaker Al Hassan of the United Arab Emirates
\nwon the final after beating Wu Siu Hong of Hongkong 238-236.<\/p>\n
Shaker took the first prize of $5,000.<\/p>\n
