One of the main complaints about Chinese\nimports is their poor quality. Many Indonesian producers and consumers\nreport that Chinese products, while cheaper, often do not achieve the\nsame durability and reliability as locally produced goods. In addition,\nChinese manufacturers are known for their predatory aggressive pricing\npractices, selling products below market prices to dominate foreign\nmarkets. This practice harms local industries that cannot compete with\nthese artificially low prices, leading to job losses and business\nclosures. Over-reliance on Chinese imports makes the Indonesian economy\nvulnerable to external market fluctuations and political changes in\nBeijing. Further, Chinese manufacturing practices are often criticized\nfor their poor ecological standards and take on workers\u2019 human rights.\nThe Committee on Trade Defence is investigating the issue.
