        "content": "<p>Indonesian Student Arrested for Sharing Explosive-Making Tips<\/p>\n<p>Reporter<\/p>\n<p>September 19, 2026 | 05:49 pm<\/p>\n<p>TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The West Java Regional Police apprehended a\ncollege student, MSA, for alleged creation and dissemination of\ntutorials for explosives and firearms assembly on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The student was a member of the WhatsApp group \u2018True Crime\nCommunity,\u2019 according to the police\u2019s head of public relations, Grand\nCommissioner Hendra Rochmawan. \u201cHe serves as a motivator for extreme\ncrimes,\u201d Hendra said in a written statement on Friday, September 18,\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Under the pseudonym \u201cPseudo Vampire,\u201d MSA was active in sending tips\nfor making explosives and firearms to members of the WhatsApp group.<\/p>\n<p>Not only sharing the tutorials, MSA reportedly tested the results of\nhis own concoction. \u201cThe suspect aimed to be regarded and recognized as\nan expert,\u201d said Hendra.<\/p>\n<p>Based on police investigation, MSA was found to have conducted at\nleast 40 tests with low-explosive materials. \u201cFor high-explosive bombs,\nthe suspect has conducted 16 tests,\u201d said Hendra.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Sub-Directorate I of the Criminal Investigation Directorate\nof the West Java Regional Police, Superintendent Rikky Aries Setiawan,\nsaid the suspect had been studying the formula for explosive materials\nand firearm assembly since junior high school.<\/p>\n<p>Rikjy said MSA was self-taught through various tutorial videos on\nYouTube. \u201cInspired by previous real terror events, one of them being the\npressure cooker bombing in Andir, Bandung,\u201d Rikky said.<\/p>\n<p>Later on, the suspect joined the \u2018True Crime Community\u2019 group\nalongside 28 other members from various regions, whose activities are\nallegedly linked to an international network monitored through cyber\npatrols.<\/p>\n<p>MSA is charged under Article 306, Article 246, and\/or Article 247 of\nthe Criminal Code involving the illegal possession of explosive\nmaterials and firearms. He is also charged with incitement under Article\n246 and Article 247 of the Criminal Code.<\/p>\n<p>Rikky said the police also seized several evidence for the case,\nincluding 8.8-centimeter diameter mortar ammunition with a length of 44\ncentimeters and 50 empty bullets, as well as projectiles and\n5.5-millimeter caliber sharp bullets.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities also seized several chemicals allegedly used for making\nexplosives, grenade casings, three assembled firearms, a firearm\ntrigger, and a bow and arrow.
