Indonesian sextuplets born in Singapore<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Sextuplets were born by caesarian section to an
\nIndonesian mother on Friday morning in Gleaneagles Hospital,
\nSingapore.<\/p>\n
The parents, Susan Tjokrosetio and Andre Prijono, were
\nexpecting quintuplets, but instead another baby was born to add
\nto their joy.<\/p>\n
The babies were born one minute apart from each other,
\nstarting with the only girl, Deidre. All the boys' names also
\nstart with the letter D.<\/p>\n
"I thank God for giving me six babies. My father already
\nprepared names for four boys and a girl. He was surprised when I
\nasked for another name," said Susan.<\/p>\n
Hendro Tjokrosetio, Susan's father, said that he gave names
\nthat start with D because Susan was his fourth child.<\/p>\n
Even though the babies were born two weeks early according the
\nhead of the medical team, Christopher Chen, the babies were born
\nhealthy, weighing between 1.3 kg and 2 kg.<\/p>\n
The couple came to Christopher for fertility drugs since they
\nhad been married three years but were unable to have children.
\nSusan's sister happened to be an assistant of Christopher.<\/p>\n
The couple were already expecting quintuplets since the
\npregnancy was three months old in June.<\/p>\n
The sextuplets are not the only set in the couple's extended
\nfamily. Andre's grandfather was born a twin.<\/p>\n
The sixth baby was not seen until the mother went into labor.
