Indonesian rowers off for European outing<\/p>\n

The Indonesian rowing team left for Europe on Tuesday for
\ntraining before their departure to the Asian Games in Busan,
\nSouth Korea in September.<\/p>\n
The team comprises Jamaludin, Azwar, Agus Budiaji, Aldino,
\nRahmat, Rudiana, and three women rowers, Pere Coroba, Angelina
\nOhelo and Wenny Rano. They are accompanied by training director
\nBudiman, coaches Syafril and Cores Sahupala.<\/p>\n
The national team is scheduled to take part in a two-day NRSF
\nTournament in the Netherlands, followed by a week-long training
\nstint under former coach Dedrick Forder.<\/p>\n
Forder took charge of the Indonesian team at the 1998 Asian
\nGames in Bangkok.<\/p>\n
"We want to build on our power. We are familiar with Forder's
\nway of coaching so hopefully the lads will have no problem in
\ntraining with him," Syafril told reporters after a meeting with
\nthe officials of the National Sports Council (KONI) here on
\nTuesday.<\/p>\n
Syafril said that although his squad would only be taking on
\ncollege students at the Dutch tournament this weekend, he
\nasserted the challenge was undoubtedly going to be tough.<\/p>\n
"Considering these student participants take part in
\ntournaments almost every week, this is going to be a good event
\nfor our rowers to test their skills," he said.<\/p>\n
After their Dutch outing, the Indonesians will up their level
\nof competition when they take part in the World Championships in
\nLausanne, Switzerland, from July 12 to 14.<\/p>\n
As regards their chances at the Asian Games, Syafril said they
\nwould face strong opponents but they were looking forward to
\nbeing challenged in the men's double-scull and 4-scull events.<\/p>",
