        "content": "<p>An interesting fact has been revealed by the Directorate General of\nPopulation and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home\nAffairs regarding naming practices in Indonesia: famous anime characters\nhave been used as children\u2019s names.<\/p>\n<p>The revelation was made by Dukcapil Director General Teguh Setyabudi\nat the 2026 Dukcapil National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas), held\nalongside the release of the Clean Population Data for Semester I of\n2026, as quoted from the Dukcapil Director General\u2019s YouTube broadcast\non Tuesday (4\/8\/2026). Teguh said that some Indonesian parents have\nnamed their children after their favourite anime characters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are names that use famous animation characters \u2014 apparently\nparents who are fans of animation. This is serious, I could be sued if\nI\u2019m lying. The Dukcapil director general speaks on the basis of\npopulation data, and it turns out there are many of them,\u201d Teguh\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The anime character names vary, ranging from Nobita, Doraemon and\nSasuke to the main character of the One Piece series, D. Luffy. Some\nparents have also named their children after the anime character\nShinchan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are those named Nobita, Uzumaki, Sasuke, Naruto, Uchiha,\nShinchan \u2014 someone even named their child Shinchan \u2014 Boruto, and so on.\nThere are eight people named Suneo, the one who likes to cry,\u201d Teguh\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The following are anime character names used as names in Indonesia\naccording to Dukcapil Ministry of Home Affairs data:<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li><p>Uzumaki \u2014 190 people<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Nobita \u2014 181 people<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Sasuke \u2014 158 people<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Naruto \u2014 157 people<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Uchiha \u2014 152 people<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>D.
