        "content": "<p>Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Indonesian government has agreed to\nallocate the Economic Stimulus Package for the Second Half of 2026 as\nincentives to accelerate public economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>Economic Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto revealed the\npackage focuses on transport ticket discounts for the 2026 Christmas and\nNew Year (Nataru) holidays, a national internship programme, and tax\nincentives for writers.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, school holiday transport discounts, including air\ntravel, amount to Rp190 billion benefiting 3.07 million people, while\nNataru discounts total Rp161.4 billion for 2.87 million\nbeneficiaries.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Discounts on transport and air travel during school holidays and\nNataru,\u2019 Airlangga stated at his office in Jakarta on Tuesday (26 May\n2026).<\/p>\n<p>Additional stimulus in the form of government-borne value-added tax\n(VAT) for flight tickets totals Rp472.7 billion targeting 2.3 million\npassengers during school holidays, and Rp722 billion for 3.7 million\npassengers during Nataru.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond mobility incentives, the national internship programme for\nJuly 2026 targets 150,000 participants with a budget of Rp4.14 trillion.\nA national vocational programme for 220,000 SMK graduates and 50,000\nretrenched workers has a budget of Rp2.12 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018These measures are expected to serve as second-quarter stimulus,\u2019\nAirlangga stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, tax incentives for writers include a final income tax (PPh)\nrate of 1.5%. Airlangga did not disclose the budget for this particular\nincentive.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, the total Economic Stimulus Package for the Second Half of 2026\nwill absorb Rp7.8 trillion in government funds, excluding the final\nincome tax incentives for writers.<\/p>",
