        "content": "<p>Indonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin has confirmed the\ncountry will continue to strengthen defence cooperation with Thailand.\nThe commitment was reinforced by the presence of Thai Defence Minister\nH.E. Lt. Gen.\u00a0Adul Boomthumjareon during a courtesy call at the\nIndonesian Ministry of Defence office in Central Jakarta on Monday.\nDuring the meeting, Sjafrie stated that Indonesia and Thailand had\npreviously agreed on a Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) containing\nvarious military cooperation arrangements. Sjafrie said the points of\ncooperation are confirmed to be continuously implemented to strengthen\nthe combat power of both Indonesia and Thailand. \u201cFor example, we will\nconduct exchanges of officers and soldiers from the special forces of\nboth countries, and we also plan to conduct exercises between the\nspecial forces of Indonesia and Thailand,\u201d Sjafrie said. \u201cWe will\nenhance coordinated patrols between each country for stability in the\nASEAN region, particularly in the Malacca Strait,\u201d Sjafrie explained.\nWith these various military cooperation activities, Sjafrie hopes the\nbilateral relationship between Indonesia and Thailand will grow even\nstronger.<\/p>",
