        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia\n(KJRI) in San Francisco (SF), California, United States, has highlighted\nthe important role of students in introducing Indonesian culture\nabroad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBesides academic achievements, experiences in organising, and\ninvolvement in events such as promoting Indonesia through Nusantara\nFest, this demonstrates the important role of students in helping to\nintroduce Indonesian culture abroad,\u201d said the Consul General of\nIndonesia in San Francisco, Yohpy Wardana, in a KJRI statement received\nin Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He made this statement during his meeting with seven Indonesian\nstudents from the Berkeley Indonesian Student Association (BISA) and\nPERMIAS San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) at the Indonesian Consulate House\nin San Francisco on 8 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In that meeting, Consul General Yohpy encouraged collaboration with\nthe students in organising Nusantara Fest 2026, which will be held on\nSaturday, 25 April 2026, at SOMArts Cultural Center, San Francisco.<\/p>\n<p>The festival is a flagship annual event by Indonesian students that\nhas been running consistently for 11 years, and it reflects the ongoing\ncommitment of the younger generation in introducing Indonesia on the\nglobal stage, according to the statement.<\/p>\n<p>More than just a cultural showcase, Nusantara Fest is considered to\nhave strong relevance for the international community in the Bay Area,\nknown as a melting pot of world cultures.<\/p>\n<p>Through authentic culinary offerings, art performances, and direct\ninteractions with Indonesian students, the event becomes a space for\ncross-cultural dialogue that strengthens understanding, opportunities\nfor cooperation, and appreciation of Indonesia\u2019s diversity.<\/p>\n<p>In the meeting with the students, Consul General Yohpy expressed full\nsupport from KJRI San Francisco for the implementation of Nusantara\nFest.
