        "content": "<p>Batam (ANTARA) - The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia\n(KJRI) in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, facilitated the repatriation of 232\nIndonesian Citizens (WNI) and Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) from\nMalaysia via Batam, Riau Islands (Kepri).<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Joint Representation Protection Task Force (Satgas\nPPT) of KJRI Johor Bahru, Jati H Winarto, stated that KJRI Johor Bahru\nprovided special assistance to ensure their return proceeds safely and\nwith dignity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKJRI Johor Bahru always strives to accompany every repatriation\nprocess, and this is part of our commitment to services that prioritise\nhumanitarian principles,\u201d he said in an official statement received in\nBatam on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe group consists of 176 men, 54 women, one toddler boy, and one\nmale infant, with the majority originating from North Sumatra, Aceh,\nWest Nusa Tenggara, East Java, and Riau,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The repatriation was carried out in two stages. On 7 May, 82 WNI\/PMI\nwere departed from Stulang Laut Port in Johor, and today, 8 May, 150\nWNI\/PMI were departed from Pasir Gudang Port in Johor to Batam Centre\nPort.<\/p>\n<p>Among those repatriated were 6 elderly WNI\/PMI and 2 boys.<\/p>\n<p>A three-month-old male infant was repatriated with his mother, who\nhad been detained at the Pekan Nenas Immigration Detention Depot (DTI)\nin Johor.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a child aged 1 year and 4 months, born in Malaysia, was\nrepatriated with his mother, who had completed her detention period.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 232 WNI\/PMI, 182 were repatriated using Travel Documents in\nLieu of Passports (SPLP) as they lacked other travel documents.<\/p>\n<p>KJRI Johor Bahru continues to work to expedite travel document\nprocesses for WNI in need, despite frequent challenges in the field.<\/p>\n<p>For information, by May 2024, KJRI Johor Bahru has facilitated the\nrepatriation of 2,212 WNI\/PMI.<\/p>\n<p>This success is inseparable from good synergy with the Malaysian\nImmigration Department (JIM), the Ministry of Indonesian Migrant Worker\nProtection (KP2MI) and its regional representatives, the Directorate\nGeneral of Immigration, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise,\nand the Indonesian National Police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCollaboration among stakeholders is the foundation of every safe,\norderly, and dignified repatriation,\u201d said Jati.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKJRI Johor Bahru will continue to be at the forefront, protecting\nevery child of the nation striving to improve their living standards far\nfrom home,\u201d he added.<\/p>",
